SECTOR COMMANDERS FORUM
DIVISIONAL HEAD QUARTER TOURS and KHULNA VISIT REPORT

   
  As part of the Sector Commanders Forum’s Leadership Tour plan of the Divisional Headquarter Khulna Division was selected as the first stop in the SCF meeting of January 3 2008. A program was chalked out and approved by the leadership Presided over by Deputy Chief of Staff of the Liberation Forces AVM A.K Khondker BU, the meeting was attended by the Sector Commanders Maj Gen K.M.Shafiullah BU, Lt. Gen. Mir Shawkat Ali BU, Maj. Gen. C.R. Dutta BU, Colonel Kazi Nuruzzaman BU and Colonel Abu Osman Chowdhury. Besides the Deputy Chief of Staff and Sector Commanders, Lieutenant General M. Harun -Ar-Rashid BP, Major General Masudur Rahman BP, Major General Jamil D Ahsan BP, Dr. Sarwar Ali and Akku Chowdhury were present in the meeting.   KHULNA TOUR

On January 17 the SCF Team under the leadership of Deputy Chief of Staff of the Liberation Forces AVM A.K Khondker BU, Sector Commanders Maj Gen K.M.Shafiullah BU, Maj. Gen. C.R. Dutta BU, and Colonel Abu Osman Chowdhury arrived in Khulna by train. SCF coordinator Major General Masudur Rahman BP, office secretary Akku Chowdhury and media coodinator Anwar Kabir accompanied them. They were warmly received at the railway station by the leadership of Greater Khulna Muktijuddha Forum leadership led by its coordinator Lieutenant (Rtd) Gazi Mohammed Rahmat Ullah Dadu B.P, BN.
At 10 am they went to Gollamari Shrimiti Shoudha where a floral wreath was laid and a one-minute prayer in silence was observed. From there they went straight to the Zia Town Hall where a packed house of Freedom Fighters, local elites belonging to the professionals, teachers and also students were eagerly waiting. The Freedom Fighters belonging to all the 9 districts of Khulna Division came forward and announced their support to the SCF and its cause for the Trial of the War Criminals. They were:

3. Sharif Hemayetullah representing Narail
4. Asadul Hoque from Bagherhat
5. Alauddin from Khalishpur
6. Alamgir Kabir
7. Sheikh Abu Jafar
8. Md. Kamruzzaman Kamal from Jhenaidah
9. Motiur Rahman of Hatkhola

From the organizers side,
Shiekh Kamruzzaman Tuke, Md. Yunus Ali Inu and Sheikh Abdul Quayum also spoke on the occasion demanding immediate trial of the War Criminals.

A total of 54 organizations expressed their solidarity with SCF movement (list attached).

Deputy Chief of the Libeartion Forces AVM A.K Khondoker BU, Sector Commanders Maj Gen K.M.Shafiullah BU and Maj. Gen. C.R. Dutta BU, Colonel Abu Osman Chowdhury, SCF coordinator Major General Masudur Rahman BP and office secretary Akku Chowdhury also spoke on the occasion.

In his Presidential speech Rahmatullah Dadu appreciated the efforts of the SCF leadership for taking the initiative to raise the issue of the trial of the War Criminals and assured his wholehearted support in this regard.

From 4 pm the SCF leaders met with local people belonging to various groups who came to show their solidarity and give suggestions to the SCF to make a more successful movement to reach the goal of trial of the war criminals:

  2. Student leaders belonging to Chatro Federation
  3. Student leaders belonging to Chatro League
  4. Student Leaders belonging to Chatro Moitri
  5. Student Leaders belonging to Chatro Dhara
  6. Leadership of the Khulna Press Club
  7. Leadership of the Sangkritik Jote
  8. Awami League and 14 party Leadership
  9. Teachers and Students of the Khulna University
  10. NGO workers
  11. Hindu Bouddha and Christian Porishad.

At 7:30 pm the SCF leaders boarded the train to return to Dhaka after a very successful   meeting with the cross section of Khulna people and reached Dhaka safely on 18 Jan 2008 at 05:30 am.
